Wellex
Fifteen minutes, and no plan in them

Nothing in your life measures the slope. Only the cliff.

You get measured properly twice: at the start, and once something has already gone wrong. The decade in between is the part that decides everything, and nobody is watching it. That is the whole reason this exists — and the next fifteen minutes are about that, not about a compensation plan.

01
Why this exists at all
The uncomfortable part first, because you have heard the comfortable part before.
Start where the system does not look

Medicine is brilliant at the emergency and blind to the ten years before it.

01You are checked once a year, at bestA morning of tests, a sheet of numbers, a sentence that says you are fine. Then three hundred and sixty-four days in which nobody measures anything.
02And the checks look for damageThey are designed to find what has already happened. They are not designed, and were never meant, to show you a slow slide while it is still a slide.
03So you feel it before anything sees itWorse sleep, shorter temper, less left in the evening. You notice all of it, none of it is written down anywhere, and by the time it is, it has a name.

A standard annual check measures a set of markers on one day. Between those days no measurement is recorded anywhere.

Diagram: ten years of slow drift ending in a drop, against the single checkup a year that misses it

You are checked once a year

364 days a year, nobody is looking.

The sentence the rest of this follows from

You will be told you are fine right up until the day you are not.

Not because anybody lied to you. Because the instruments that could see it coming are pointed at people who are already ill, and there has never been one pointed at you, every night, for years, in your own home. That instrument is the entire idea. Everything after this slide is how we built it and what it costs.

And yes, you have tried this before

Your trackers told you what you did. None told you what it cost.

01It measures, then stopsSteps, pulse, a sleep chart. All true, all separate, none of it answering the only question worth asking: is this week taking more out of me than the last one.
02Nothing happens if you stopLeave it in a drawer for a month and the world is identical. A device with no consequence for stopping is a device you will stop using, and almost everybody does, by week three.
03It asks you to care dailyA dashboard is only useful to somebody willing to study it. Nobody has that spare at seven in the morning, and pretending otherwise is why the drawer is full.

Wrist sensors have been accurate for about a decade. What the category lacked was a single output and a reason to keep wearing the device past week three.

The other reason your arms are folded

Somebody has shown you a compensation plan before showing you a product.

You were right to be sceptical

If the first thing somebody explains is how you get paid, the product is the part they are least sure about. You worked that out years ago and it has served you well.

So this deck has no plan in it

No ranks, no levels, no income, no team. There is another side to this company and it gets exactly one slide, near the end, with no figure on it.

If at any point in the next ten minutes I start describing what you could earn, stop me. That is the agreement for this conversation, and it is the only one I am asking for.

A quiet moment, the band worn
A wrist at rest in early morning light
02
What we built instead
One instrument, one number, one habit.
The whole design in one line

One number, not a dashboard.

You read one thing

The band reads all night and the morning gives you a single figure. Up, down, or the same as yesterday. That is a question you can answer before coffee, which is the only kind anybody answers.

And it opens up

Tap it and it breaks into what moved it. Not a verdict handed down from a black box — a breakdown you can disagree with, which is the only kind worth having.

It moves slowly on purpose. A number that jumps every hour teaches you to ignore it, and a number you ignore is worse than no number at all.

The band on a wrist
Where the number comes from

Ten signals, read together, every night.

01Ordinary on their ownHeart-rate variability, calm, sleep, emotion, oxygen, pulse, movement, temperature, load and calories. Any watch reads some of them. None of that is the claim.
02Together and without gapsOne reading is a snapshot. What tells you anything is the pattern across weeks — and that pattern only exists if the band never comes off. Continuity is the whole product.
03And every part is openEach of the ten has its own screen. Nothing sits behind a score you are asked to take on faith, because a number you cannot take apart is a number you will stop believing.

The band has no screen and charges in minutes rather than overnight. Both of those decisions exist for a single reason: so that it never has to come off.

What it does to your week

A number in the morning, one change, and the answer the next day.

A loop, not a report

You see the figure, you change one thing — an earlier evening, a walk, one fewer drink — and the next morning you find out whether it mattered to you, not to a study of ten thousand people.

One thing, never six

Nobody sustains a programme. Everybody can hold one change for a week. The product is built around that limit instead of pretending it does not exist.

Most people find something in the first fortnight that moves their number more than they expected. It is almost never the thing they would have guessed, and that surprise is the moment the habit forms.

Evening, the band in ordinary use
The part people brace for

The band is free. What you pay for is switching it on.

Activation, then month by month

Activation covers your first two months, both included. After that it is monthly — and monthly means you can stop whenever you like. Nothing is bought up front and there is no package to carry.

Two doors, one product

There is a member activation and a partner one. Same band, same app, same number. The only difference is whether you also want the tools for working with other people.

Ask to see the current figures on the screen where you activate. They are shown before anything is charged, and nobody — including me — should be quoting them to you from memory.

Bands in the range
Where almost everybody quits

Week one is curiosity. Week three is habit. Week two is where the drawer wins.

01

One flame, no nagging

A streak counts the nights you kept it on. It sits on the home screen and never notifies, buzzes or asks anything of you. It is a fact, not a reminder.

02

It forgives one night a month

Because a system that punishes a single bad night gets deleted after the second one. One is forgiven automatically. The rest are counted honestly, which is what makes it worth anything.

03

Then the streak steps back

By the third week you are not wearing it for the streak. That was the streak’s entire job. It lasted a fortnight, and then it stopped mattering — as designed.

There are ten achievements in the app. None of them pays anything: no token, no marketplace, nothing that can be sold or transferred. They record that the band stayed on.

A quiet room before the day starts
03
What it will never claim
Said before you ask, because the ones who wait to be asked are the ones to worry about.
The line that does not move

It does not diagnose, treat or cure anything. It makes a pattern visible, and what you do with it is yours.

Wellex is a wellness product, not a medical device. Anybody who tells you it finds illness is describing something that does not exist, and you should discount everything they say afterwards. What it is good at is narrow, real and rare: showing you, in your own data, what your own week is costing you.

Hands and a woven band in daylight
04
The other side, mentioned once
Because you will hear about it anyway, and it should come from somebody honest.
One slide, and no figure on it

There is a yield side. This is not the conversation about it.

It needs no team and no recruiting

Somebody who never mentions Wellex to another person uses it exactly like somebody with a large team. It is a separate thing you can look at later, or not at all.

No number will be quoted to you

Not by me and not today. There is a separate deck that explains the mechanism without naming a rate, and a screen where you read your own. Both of those are deliberate.

Money placed there is at risk, is locked for a year, is not a deposit and is not insured as one. If any of that is news to you, somebody told you too late.

The band, still
The connection nobody explains to you

One habit holds every part of this together.

01The number needs the nightsTake the band off and the index has nothing to read. That is not a punishment, it is arithmetic: the measurement simply stops existing, and so does the answer you were waiting for.
02The subscription keeps the rest aliveEverything the company runs for you is tied to an active subscription. Let it lapse and things quietly stop working, which is exactly why it is monthly, visible and cancellable rather than buried in a contract.
03So there is one thing to get rightNot six habits and not a programme. Keep it on and keep it running. Everything else in this deck follows from that, and nothing in it works without the habit.

Accrual requires an active subscription. If it lapses past its grace period, the principal stays locked and stops earning. The subscription is monthly and can be cancelled from the same screen it is paid on.

If you take one thing from today

Do not decide anything today. Wear it for a week and let your own number decide.

Nothing here asks you to commit to anything tonight beyond putting a band on your wrist. If anybody ever presents this and finishes by asking you to decide in the room, that is the moment to stand up and leave. A product that works does not need the pressure, and one that needs it does not work.

In this order and no other

Three steps. The first one costs nothing.

01Take the band — it is freeIt ships to you at no cost and you decide nothing by accepting it. If you never switch it on, you have lost an evening of conversation and I have lost nothing worth counting.
02Switch it on and give it seven nightsThis is the paid part and the only one. A week is the smallest amount of data that shows a pattern rather than a reading, and you will have earned the first two achievements without trying.
03Change one thing, then ask me anythingOne change, chosen by you, held for a week. After that ask me whatever you like — including about the other side — with your own number in front of you instead of my description of it.

Notice where the money sits: after you are holding the thing, not before. If somebody asks you to pay before you have seen the product, that is a different kind of company.

Next step

Tonight, not someday.

  • 01Take the bandScan the code and claim it. It costs nothing and commits nothing.
  • 02Switch it on, then message me on day sevenWith your number, not with your opinion of it.
  • 03Everything else after thatNever before. There is nothing worth discussing without your own data.
